Design Showcase West
Design Showcase West is the first-ever, west coast-based design portfolio exhibit and review of student work for professionals from the entertainment design industry. During the inaugural event, students from UCLA presented their work to potential employers in theater, film, television, digital media and themed entertainment.
?Our goal is to feature a diverse pool of top talent representing some of the best design programs from a large geographic area,? said Bill Ward, chair of the UCLA Department of Theater. ?This is the most efficient way for people in the industry to see the best of the next generation of designers.?
?We hope this becomes an annual tradition and we?re thrilled to be the host,? added Ward.
Co-hosted by the Art Directors Guild and the Costume Designers Guild, the showcase will provide opportunities for job seekers to connect with employers in an extremely competitive field. Participating institutions include Yale, New York University, UCLA, California Institute of the Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts, University of California at Irvine, University of California at San Diego, University of Texas at Austin, and University of Washington.
