Biotechnology Institute - General Description
The Biotechnology Institute is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to education and research about the present and future impact of biotechnology. We offer educational and research programs for teachers, students, opinion leaders and general audiences to raise awareness and understanding of biotechnology.
Our mission is to engage, excite, and educate the public, particularly young people, about biotechnology and its immense potential for solving human health, food, and environmental problems.
The Institute will be an authoritative international source for reliable information and perspective about biotechnology and a leading provider of biotechnology resources for teachers, students, the general public, and opinion leaders.
To achieve this, we will:
Reach every teacher in America involved in biotechnology through professional development and support materials; link and support local, grassroots teacher programs.
Inspire students to pursue careers in biotechnology through meetings, publications, and award programs.
Educate international audiences through activities, meetings, and conferences.
Inform policy makers, media, and other opinion leaders through seminars, roundtables, research reports, and white papers.
